As part of a group show of contemporary artists whose works relates to the Norwegian tapestry artist Hannah Ryggen, I provided some group-woven blankets to display. We also figured that producing some laser looms and holding weaving actions with local school groups would be appropriate. In the end I also had the opportunity to build another floor loom to use, this one incorporating laser heddle elements.

Invited to participate in “So Critical So Fashion”, a DIY runway show in Milan during Fashion Week, I decided to use the Laser Loom in a different way, to have models weave a garment as they traveled down the catwalk. In the end, after a glass of wine, I was also the model/weaver.

For five days in Berlin Mitte I brought my loom from my studio to public locations to weave and converse with Berlin. The cloth that I made became a record of these interactions, along with notes and photographs I have to remember specifics.

For a month or so in 2010 I was invited to use a free room in Direktorenhaus Berlin as an open studio space, where i further developed my collapsible loom weaving kit and my weaving tutorial techniques! Here are some photos of the space.
